Wallpaper Sizing Guide

Getting the right amount of wallpaper is easier than you think! Follow these simple steps to measure your wall and calculate exactly how many square metres you need.

Step 1 – Measure Your Wall Height

Using a tape measure, measure from the floor to the ceiling in metres. Write this number down.

Example: 2.4m floor to ceiling

Step 2 – Measure Your Wall Width

Measure the full width of the wall you want to cover, from one edge to the other, in metres.

Example: 3.0m wide

Step 3 – Calculate Your Square Metres

Multiply your height by your width to get the total square metres:

Height (m) × Width (m) = Square Metres needed

Example: 2.4m × 3.0m = 7.2 m²

We recommend rounding up to the nearest whole square metre to allow for any trimming or adjustments during installation.

Step 4 – Select Your Square Metres at Checkout

Once you know your total square metres, simply select that quantity from the drop-down box on the product page. If your wall area falls between two options, always choose the larger size.

Tips for a Great Finish

  • Smooth walls work best. Our peel and stick wallpaper is designed for smooth, clean, dry surfaces. It adheres best to properly sealed and painted plaster, drywall, and similar finishes.
  • Textured walls are not recommended. Heavily textured, rough, or porous surfaces (such as exposed brick, artex, or heavily embossed wallpaper) can prevent the adhesive from bonding properly, leading to peeling edges. We do not recommend applying peel and stick wallpaper to textured walls.
  • Clean your wall first. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and allow it to dry fully before applying.
  • Measure twice, order once. Double-check your measurements before placing your order to avoid shortfalls.
  • Allow a little extra. If your wall has windows, doors, or alcoves, measure the full wall area first — it is easier to trim excess than to run short.
